Cabell County Student Empowerment Team Scholarship Pageant

The scholarship pageant will be held on May 18th, 2019 beginning at 10:00 am for all categories located at the Huntington Mall – Macy’s Court.

  • Check in at 9 am.
  • Judging: Princess divisions 10 am-12 pm
  • Judging: Teen and Queen Divisions begins at 10 am with private interviews with judges.

Deadline for submitting application and registration fee is April 18th.

Registration: Entry Form can be completed online through this Event Brite event or paper entry form that can be downloaded and submitted by mail or email. All girls ages 0 to 22 who live in Cabell County are eligble to enter.

DIVISIONS: 

PRINCESSES: Natural Pageant with minimal makeup, natural teeth and hair. Entry Fee $75 includes 1 photo. You can submit extra photos and sign up for Optional Side Awards.

>> For Princess Categories, you may enter as many photos as you wish. The first one is included in the entry fee.  Each Extra photo is $5.00. Side awards can be entered and are $5 each.

  • Tiny Miss (0-3)                     
  • Little Miss (4-8)
  • Junior Miss (9-12)

Teen and Queen: Entry fee $125.00 includes 1 photo and all side awards, letter of recommendation, and community service.  NO Extra photos are to be submitted.

  • Teen (age 13-17)                  
  • Queen (age 18-22)    

>> For Teen and Queen Divisions, NO Extra photos are to be submitted. All side awards are included.

For Teen and Queen Divisions ONLY: Submit community service form and letter of recommendation.

  1. Community Service – Community Service is the most important aspect of CCSET Queen’s duties. She needs to be socially aware and able to impact others when they meet her.  A minimum of 25 community service hours is needed to be considered as Queen and 15 hours for Teen Queen. Please fill out the Community Service form (contestant may make copies if needed).
  2. Letter of Recommendation – Letter can be from a teacher, professor or community leader.

To enter the Miss CCSET Scholarship Pageant, contestants must meet certain basic requirements and agree to abide by all rules now in effect or announced hereafter. To be a contestant, you must include but not limited to: Be a resident of Cabell County and attend a school/ educational facility located IN Cabell County, U.S. citizen, and Born a female

Additional Qualifications for Teen and Queen:  Be available for public appearances as Miss CCSET during the 2019-20 year of your reign and never been married or pregnant

ENTRY FORM APPLICATION SUBMISSION: The entry form can be submitted by mail, email or online through Event Brite. For Teen and Queen Divisions the letter of recommendation and community service form must be submitted by the deadline by mail or email. Payments accepted Online through Event Brite or mail in a check made out to: Cabell Co. FRN-CCSET, 1002 3rd Avenue, Floor 3, Huntington, WV 25701-1506

There will be no walk in registrations at the event.

  • There is a $25 Returned Check Fee.
  • If payment is mailed in with application, all registration fees must be postmarked by the deadline of April 18th. 
  • If application is emailed, it MUST BE received before midnight on April 18th (with payment made online by that deadline or check mailed and postmarked by April 18th).

Event Terms

The Contestant agrees to release and hold harmless Cabell Co. FRN-CCSET, the Huntington Mall facility and its members from any liability, and/or responsibility whatsoever, resulting from association with or arising out of contestant’s participation in the CCSETSP/ any CCSET event, including but not limited to personal injury, or loss/ damage to personal property regardless of whether the loss or injury occurs before, during, or after the pageant.

I also agree that the JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL and understand that NO SCORE SHEETS will be released. I grant permission to Cabell Co. FRN-CCSET and the Huntington Mall to use any photographs/video taken or submitted in the use of publications and other media including social media to promote the Pageant, Cabell Co. FRN-CCSET and the Huntington Mall.

What can I bring into the event?

For all participants, bring your photo(s) with your name on the back to the event. Photos will be returned at the end of the event.

Wardrobe:

0 – 12 Age Groups– Spring or Summer themed attire. No formal pageant gowns please.

13 – 22 Age Groups  

Private Interview: Interview Attire

  • For Teen and Queen, please bring evening gown and black cocktail attire in addition to interview attire. The on stage event will be 2 phases starting after private interviews.

Presentation: Black Cocktail Attire

Gown: Evening Gown of Choice

Competitions

0 – 12 Age Groups will be judged on:

Outfit- Fit, style, does it fit their personality

Stage Presence- smile, character, and personality

Grace-Does the contestant hold herself well onstage

Side Awards- as described

13 – 22 Age Groups will be judged on:

Interview: Confidence, poise, personality, speaking ability, style and fit of clothing

Presentation: Introduction, public speaking ability, style and fit of clothing, stage presence

Gown: Style and fit of gown, grace, stage presence

 What’s the refund policy? All registrations are final and no refunds will be issued.  

AWARDS: The scholarship awards for this pageant are as follows:

0-12 Age Groups:  Each age division WINNER will receive a $50 Cash Scholarship toward an educational experience of her choice.

13-17 Age Group: Teen Queen will be awarded a $300 Cash Scholarship to an educational experience of her choice.

18-22 Age Group: Miss CCSET Queen will be awarded a $1,000 Scholarship to a school of higher learning.

Proceeds from the event will go to support the work of the Cabell County Student Empowerment Team, an affiliate of the Cabell County Family Resource Network, Inc. a 501c3 non-profit organization.
